I had my son write his Christmas Thank-You notes on blank papers, then I figured I would make the card-fronts afterwards. (You know, nothing too girly.)
I wanted to use the paper from Sweet Home because they are Indian Corn Blue and not feminine. (The paper packs are retired, but Level 1 and My Stickease are still available).
I used the stamp set Bon Voyage (D1316), which I've had for 3 years and never used. It's got a great Mediterranean feel. In fact, they designed the stamp set especially for the people who earned the Mediterranean cruise, and then gave it to us. And now, you can have it too, because it's available for customers to purchase.
Anyway, I stamped the image and put it in the middle of the card like this:
It looks nice enough, but then I moved the sailboat over to the left. It made a big difference!
Even my husband, who rarely expresses an opinion about my cards said "I like this one better." I think it's because of the movement that is implied in the card. The sailboat is sailing off the card.
Just one way to easily show movement. You also could add some little thing-of-interest on the lower right side of the card...like small brads.
