September Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

I'm so excited to be participating in the September Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

If you've come here from Haley's blog, you're in the right place.

This month's stamp of the month is called Poster Tidings and is great for super easy cards or scrapbook pages.  I thought it would be beautiful with the new fall paper, Huntington.

This is the card I came up with:

Prior to stamping the words on the card stock, I tried stamping on vellum and embossing with the Detail Clear Embossing Powder.  I didn't like it as well.  It didn't show up very well on the Cocoa card stock I was overlaying it on.  (I know, my colors aren't very true, but you get the idea.)

I also stamped the little vines branch from the Love This (B1432) stamp set.  I inked in Autumn Terracotta and used the Sponge Dauber in Chocolate to get the two tones.

I also smeared some of the Almond Glitz Glitter Gel on the edges to make it a little sparkly.

Supplies Used:

Paper Pack: Huntington
Stamp Sets Used:  Poster Tidings (Stamp of the Month) and Love This (B1432)
Stamp Pads Used:  Autumn Terracotta, Goldrush, Chocolate
Glitz Glitter Gel - Almond
Square Studs (Z1705)

I hope you like the stamp set and card that I came up with.  :)

If you want to get your own Poster Tidings stamp set - click here - to shop on my ctmh website!

If not, it's time to hop on over to Brae's blog to see her creativity in action.

Happy Stamping!

Quickies...

I've been making cards for people at church.  I love doing it, because it makes me happy.  And I think it makes them happy, too!

Not CTMH butterfly paper - just using up my stash...The mat is Outdoor Denim.
Stamps are Frame Flair (D1546, $17.95) and a retired sentiment stamp set. Topiary and Outdoor Denim inks.

Not CTMH paper - but the tan strip in the middle is from last year's Christmas paper.  It matches beautifully!  Ink Color:  Saddle.

I thought it would be fun to stamp a sentiment in a bunch of different colors!  This is a My Sentiments Exactly stamp set that I got in the dollar bins at Michaels.  I just stamped the words in a bunch of different colors, while trying my hardest to line up the words.

Colors:  Lagoon, Pear, Topiary, Honey, Hollyhock, Sunset, Cotton Candy.  You get the idea!

This is the July Stamp of the Month.

The big blue butterfly is a Cricut cutout and it's popped up off the page.

More non-CTMH papers.  But the stamps are!  I cut a big butterfly (with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge) out of Indian Corn Blue for the lower card.  Embellished with rhinestones.  I also colored in the square on the lower right.

Love leftovers!

I had these Cricut-cut stars left over from my 4th of July cards that we made in our June card class.  It seemed like a shame to throw them away, since I had some with the glitter paper.  (And if you know me at all, you know I have bags of cut paper that I can't bear to throw out.)

I made this card for a friend to give to her son who was in the Marines.

For the background I used Grey Wool (retired) but any grey would do, since it doesn't  have to match anything.

Just like my fried rice recipe -- use whatever you've got hanging around!  :)

Supplies Used:
Card Stock:  White Daisy, Pacifica, Cranberry, Grey Wool (retired)
Ink:  Pacifica
Stamps:  Say it in Style (retired)
Other:  Cricut Art Philosphy Cartridge (Z1686, $99), Dimensional Elements-Stars (Z1680, $3.25), Black & Grey Glitter Paper (Z1829, $5.95 for 3 different shades/sheets)

Use up some leftovers today!

Quick Cards...

I love making quick cards.  It's easy when you have fun paper to work with.  It's so great that Close To My Heart has such wonderful papers for me.  Sometimes I'm reluctant to use it (because it's so cute!).  Go and find one of those big stacks of patterned paper from your local craft store.  Then you won't be shy about using it up (for an easy card that uses up a "lot" of paper, like this one).

I just used a Close To My Heart stamp for the sentiment, and paper I had hanging around.  Yes, I could have embellished it, but when you're in a hurry, this is perfect!!

STAMP SET:  Card Chatter - Sympathy (D1476, $17.95); STAMP PAD:  Topiary; PAPER:  Big Stack

The other card I made yesterday was this one - for a friend fell off of a ladder.  :(  Ouch!  Luckily, he's going to be ok.

I really wanted to use the Band-Aid.  And I was glad that I found a CTMH paper that would work.  It's not fancy, but it makes you laugh!!

STAMP SET:  Say It In Style (Retired);  STAMP PAD:  Honey;  PAPER:  Cocoa, Retired patterned paper from CTMH (that I can't remember the name of...); OTHER:  Waxy Flax-Colonial White & Sorbet (retired); Chocolate Flower Button (retired); Round Sponge; Band-Aid

I hope you can use some paper up today!  :)  (and make someone else smile in the process).
