Obsessed with Chocolate Bunnies

My friends were laughing at me, because I am slightly obsessed with this chocolate bunny in the A HOP stamp set.  One of the very first Close To My Heart stamps that I bought (years ago) was a smaller bunny which was really similar to this one.  I don't know why I like it so much.  I think it just makes me happy -- you know, like real (edible) chocolate bunnies do.

I wanted to make an easy card with the stamp set - I made 24 of these for our upcoming team meeting invitation.

I used the Nestabilities Scallop Circle die with my Cuttlebug (love 'em both!) to make the scallop circle.  The Close To My Heart scallop punch is great, but the rabbit is too big to fit inside it, so I had to go with a larger one.

I stamped the bunny first, then cut a mask (stamping the bunny on a Post-It note and trimming the bottom of it), then I laid the trimmed Post-It bunny on top of the real bunny, then stamped the grass.  That way, the bunny looks like he's sitting IN the grass.  I think it might have been fine if I hadn't masked.  The green grass would probably be covered up by the brown rabbit.

I also popped the rabbit (circle) up with foam mounting tape.  I thought it added a little something.

I made these for our team meeting invitation.  If you'd like to join our Close To My Heart team, or want to come and see what it's all about, our meeting/potluck lunch is this Saturday, April 16 at 10am.  It's lots of fun, and we all love playing with paper.  Send me an email or call me.  We'd love to have you join us!
